How it works
What to expect
Getting started
Wear comfortable training clothing and flat-soled shoes, and bring a water bottle. Beforehand, note your key events, your typical riding and training week, and any current or past injuries so the assessment can map your real constraints. Avoid a heavy meal in the hour before.
During your sessions
After your sessions
You receive a summary of your strengths and limiters and a recommended training direction. If you go on to coaching, the assessment findings become the baseline your periodised programme is built and progressed from, and are revisited as your goals and event calendar evolve.

FAQ
Common
questions
What does the Performance Assessment actually involve?
A structured conversation about your riding and goals, an off-bike movement and strength screen, and an interpretation of what those findings mean for your performance on the bike. You leave with a clear read of your strengths and limiters and a recommended training direction matched to your goals and available time.
Is this a medical or diagnostic assessment?
No. It is a performance and fitness assessment focused on strength, movement, mobility, and capacity — not a clinical examination or diagnosis. If anything we see suggests you should speak to a doctor or physiotherapist, we will say so and recommend you do, but the assessment itself is about building the right training plan.
Do I need the assessment before I can start coaching?
It is the recommended starting point because it makes everything after it more effective and time-efficient, but it is not compulsory. Some riders prefer to begin with it; others fold the assessment into their first coaching sessions. We will talk through the best route for you on the initial Zoom consultation.
What will I come away with?
A clear summary of your strengths, the specific factors limiting your power, position, and durability, and a recommended direction — in-person coaching, an online tier, or both. The goal is that your very first training block is already pointed at the work that will make the biggest difference to your riding.
